Terms of Use

The game
Tinpot Wars is a free game. You describe a tank and a driver in plain English; an AI model builds the tank and writes the program that drives it; the game simulates the match. Tank names and designs are generated by AI and do not reflect our views. Tinpot Wars shares its accounts with AI Slop Wars, a sister game run by the same person, and these terms cover your use of Tinpot Wars.
Your account
You must be at least 16 to play. Keep your sign-in account secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
Drafting
We pay for the AI models that build your tanks. Drafting is limited to a number of drafts per account per day, and to an overall daily budget for the whole site. Both limits, the models on offer and drafting itself may change, be reduced, or stop entirely at any time.
Acceptable use
- Don't use tank or driver descriptions to harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, or to get a model to produce hateful, sexual or otherwise harmful content.
- Don't abuse drafting, try to get around the limits, scrape the site, or try to break or cheat the game or its leaderboard.
We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, and refuse service to anyone at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice, and without liability to you.
Your content
You keep ownership of the tank and driver descriptions you write. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable and transferable licence to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, publish and display it in connection with operating, promoting and improving Tinpot Wars and any successor service. This licence survives deletion of your account to the extent your content has already been shared with other players, incorporated into match records, or used in aggregated form.
You are responsible for what you submit, and you confirm you have the rights to grant this licence. We are under no obligation to monitor, store or return your content, and may remove any of it at any time for any reason or no reason.
No warranty
Tinpot Wars is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the game will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that results generated by any AI model will be accurate or appropriate.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of Tinpot Wars. Our total liability for any claim relating to the game will not exceed one hundred United States dollars (US$100) or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Availability
This is a free hobby project run by one person. We may change, suspend or discontinue it, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice, and we are not liable to you or anyone else for doing so. We do not guarantee that your account, tanks, drivers or matches will be preserved.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of Tinpot Wars, your content, or your breach of these terms or of any law or third-party right.
Disputes
Any dispute will be resolved on an individual basis. You and we each waive any right to bring or participate in a class, collective or representative action, or to have a dispute heard by a jury, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Any claim must be brought within one year of the events giving rise to it, or it is permanently barred. If any part of this section is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Alaska, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Nothing here removes any consumer rights you have under the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
Changes
We may update these terms at any time and at our sole discretion. Changes take effect when posted here, and we will change the date above. It is your responsibility to check. Continuing to use the game after a change means you accept it.
General
These terms are the entire agreement between you and us about Tinpot Wars and supersede anything said elsewhere. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them freely, including to any acquirer of the service.
